It is interesting to note that alcohol related auto fatalities represented about 40% of the total personal injury fatalities for automobiles in 2006.  A total of 17, 600 alcohol related auto fatalities were reported in 2006.  This is a staggering statistic suggesting that there is still much work to do in educating the public on the dangers of drunk driving.  It is expected that personal injury fatalities could be significantly reduced through more aggressive training and enforcement of drunk driving laws.
