Are you REALLY happy?

Look deeply into your own heart. Are you really happy? Is there something you think needs to happen before you can be happy? Are you sure that IF that something occurred, you would truly be happy then? Would it be enough? Would you notice?

Manifest means: To bring or attract something into your life that you desire (money, health, relationships). I believe that our life is about segments that make life matter, and how to have more of them. It is about experiencing fulfillment and meaning in your life now, not when you have more money, or find the right lover, or achieve your perfect weight, but in this and every present moment. It is about how to rediscover precious moments with your mate and your children, precious moments with your work and your play, and, most of all, precious moments with yourself.

As we approach mid-life, many of us stand at an emotional and spiritual intersection. We’ve achieved some of the successes we dreamed of; we’ve acquired some of the material possessions we wanted; we’ve had the children or relationship we were supposed to; we’ve done the things we thought would bring us happiness. But, when we ask ourselves “Am I Happy?” we aren’t always sure of the answer. We look at our lives, question our values, and wonder whether the choices that we’ve made have been the correct ones.

Is there a spiritual and emotional void in America? Have we substituted years of quantity for quality, and stimulation for substance? Have we created a world of men and women who often do not know how to experience instant moments of happiness?

We spend our lives preparing for the future, rather than enjoying the present. We’ve become experts at doing but not at being. The result is that we have lost our ability to appreciate and experience joy, in the “now,“ and we are left searching desperately and often unsuccessfully for meaning.

We experience happiness not because of what we get, but because of how we live each moment in time. Happiness is not an acquisition, but a skill, the skill of finding meaning in every precious moment by living it consciously and completely.
