By: David Smith The 2009 Acura TL is redesigned and now seems larger, faster and easier to handle at slow speeds. Its new styling is undeniably more distinct, called "motion surface", and adds some pizzazz. The sedan is packed with high-tech wizardry, has a spacious comfortable cabin with user-friendly high-tech features and is a snap to drive. The 2009 Acura TL will be available in two trims-the TL and the TL SH-AWD. The 2009 Acura TL is equipped with a 3.5-liter 280 horsepower V6 that makes 254 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm when mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The SH-AWD model comes with a 3.7-liter V6 that takes output to 305 horsepower, and 273 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm, making it the most powerful production Acura yet. The cabin of the 2009 Acura TL displays a neat, compact layout with multi-function buttons, rotary knobs and displays with electronic interfaces. The TL seats five in plush leather interiors and well-equipped storage facilities. The base trim has standard features such as an eight-speaker stereo with Bluetooth compatibility and iPod connectivity, leather seating, dual-zone climate control and a power moonroof. Also standard are 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, heated side mirrors, rear ventilation controls, eight-way power front seats with heating and driver memory functions and a tilt-telescoping steering column. If you're in the market for a midsize luxury sedan, the Acura TL is on top of the technology curve, and will certainly figure high on your list.
