No one likes insurance until they need it. Part of the problem is that there are simply too many insurance options. Life insurance, casualty insurance, property insurance, health insurance, disability insurance, flood insurance, catastrophic insurance, renters insurance, automobile insurance, mortgage insurance, reverse mortgage insurance is your head spinning yet? Did I mention long term care insurance? What do you need and why do you need it? Those are some really good questions. To be sure, a lot of people are over insured. But I would venture to say that even more people are underinsured. Insurance can be wasteful. But again until you need it. Then it can be the most valuable investment you have made. As topics of study go it’s not flamboyant, but it can be so nice to be insured when the unexpected happens.
