Smoking cessation hypnosis helps you quit smoking based not only on psychological principles, but on scientific principles as well. This is a similar strategy to one seeking therapy or counselling in hoping to overcome such an addiction. Generally, hypnosis is done through recordings, in the form of a CD or MP3, which are listened to on a predetermined schedule by the client. These recordings can be soothing, subliminal messages which detach the smoker from his/her addiction.
If one is a heavy smoker, even as little as a pack a day, the habit can seem to be somewhat automatic, especially if one has maintained a regular schedule of when they smoke. Hypnosis “reprograms” the conscious and subconscious parts of the brain to make sure that the temptation to light up again is completely erased from the thought process. It also deletes all triggers from the subconscious which may tempt the client to smoke again.
Smoking cessation hypnosis attempts to reverse the thought processes of smokers, and helps to decrease the amount of times a thought is translated into an action. Gradually, the therapy will start to work, and all efforts will be proven successful in a relatively short period of time.
For most people, it may be necessary to combine smoking cessation hypnosis with another form of smoking cessation aid that addresses the physical aspects of the addiction. For many hypnotherapy is looked at as a program that works in conjunction with another. For others, hypnosis alone can do the trick. Either way, if you would like to stop smoking with the least amount of cravings, irritations, etc., smoking cessation hypnosis is definitely a proven technique to try -- you have nothing to lose but your health.
